Following the huge success of the first six volumes of Prisoner Cell Block H on DVD, the iconic Australian ‘women behind bars’ TV series continues with the 18th April 2011 release of the eight-disc boxed set, Prisoner Cell Block H: Volume 7, courtesy of Shock Entertainment and FremantleMedia Enterprises.
For this special release (and for the three forthcoming volumes), fans of the series were able to choose for themselves the colour of the logo for the packaging via a poll on the Prisoner Cell Block H Official UK DVD Forum. For reasons known only to themselves, on this occasion a whopping 41 per cent of voters decided the logo should be a rather fetching bright pink and that’s exactly what they’ve got.
Including 32 episodes (193 to 224) of the series previously unavailable on DVD in the UK, and amounting to over 25 hours of classic ‘Prisoner’ action, this long-awaited collectors’ edition release is a must-have for fans of the cult series that has become one of the best remembered and most watched Australian soaps of all time.
This time when the prison gates close and the cell doors slam at Wentworth Detention Centre there’s upset in the laundry with sabotage and strikes leading the way. Meanwhile, Bea gets transferred and suffers from a bout of amnesia… or does she?
New officer Terry causes chaos with the women and accusations of an alleged murder, with his time at Wentworth ending in an argument and a gunshot from a passing car. Lizzie gets a marriage proposal and it’s Margo’s turn in isolation. Then, visitor Lori Young arrives, saying she is Judy’s daughter…
