I'm well aware the likeable Campbell has done various other film and TV work but let's face it, he's always going to be best known as the much-tormented and abused Ashley from
The Evil Dead trilogy.
Something of an underrated thespian imo, the former Deadite destroyer gave quite possibly a career-best performance in cult curio
Bubba Ho-Tep.
According to Sam Raimi, the actor was also intended to play the lead role in the visually-arresting
Crimewave until studio meddling resulted in our Bruce being relegated to a smaller part instead.
I also seem to recall Campbell from obscure sci-fi offering
Mindwarp and i think he popped up in another little-seen low-budgeter,
Lunatics.
Don't forget Campbell's cameos in the
Spider Man trilogy and
Darkman, too. The Raimi connection kicking in again of course!
