there is so much great comedy on BBC radio(radio4extra nowadays) that can go overlooked cause of the overpowering lure of the good old telly.
I remember the following with great fondness:
THE MIGHTY BOOSH (to me funnier than on tv)
ALAN PARTRIDGE( this propelled Coogan to real fame)
THE GOON SHOW
RADIO ACTIVE
WEEK ENDING(during the Thatcher years this weekly satire was compulsive listening)
HANCOCK'S HALF HOUR(listen to the ones with Sid James and Kenneth Williams)
JUST A MINUTE( again the ones with Kenneth Williams)
COUNT ARTHUR STRONG'S RADIO SHOW(IMHO the funniest thing ever... maybe.)
There's just so much great stuff waiting for you to discover, so open your earholes and shut those eyes.
