Default Rasputin The Mad Monk (1966)

He won't die. He is the devil. I've tried to kill him, but he won't die.

From IMDB: "Thrown out of his monastery for licentious and drunken behaviour, Rasputin travels to St Petersburg to try his luck. Through a daliance with one of the Czarina's ladies in waiting he soon gains influence at court with his powers of healing and of hypnotism. But he also makes enemies who wish to see him dead."

After The Devil Rides out this is my 2nd fav Hammer film. Lee is amazing as the mad monk so crazed and intimidating just superb performance.

Now we're talking! Even if the "official" life story of Rasputin has been corrupt it is still an awesome movie.

Who needs historical accuracy when you have Christopher Lee?

You got a point. And who needs to be a monk when there's alcohol and women?

I watched this film recently and enjoyed the hell out of it. Christopher Lee is a brilliant actor.

My two faves as well, that 21 disker hammer box was a gift from the gods, and who can argue with the 30 quid price tag. Just wish they would bring out a sequel to the set.
