The Satanic Rites Of Dracula (1973)

The penultimate Dracula film from Hammer. I've been re-watching all the Dracula films from Hammer recently, and I watched Satanic Rites yesterday. I love this one and I think it's the best one since Hammer's original Dracula. Ok Dracula isn't in it all that much, but I love the melding of contemporary 1970's Dracula and a germ warefare Spy Thriller.

Having William Franklyn, as an SIS agent, in the cast helps too. Franklyn would have made a superb James Bond for the late 1950's to mid 1960's. Go and watch Pit Of Darkness (1961) to see what he could have been like as 007.

Its wierd but i always think of this as the final Dracula film.

I guess i don't count anyone playing Dracula for Hammer who isn't Sir Christopher.

I haven't seen either, but thanks for the heads up as I've had She on my Amazon wishlist about 2 years now

No you're right, it's as boring as hell other than the opening scenes.

Although this one isn't that well regarded by everyone, it seems, I've always been fairly fond of it. John Cavavas' score was great, and Caroline Munro was, well....
