Default Tales from the Crypt (1972)

Anyone picked up the UK DVD of the Amicus classic Tales from the Crypt? If so, can you tell me what the quality is like and does it feature the uncensored version? Cheers

With the US double bill with Vault of Horror available for about a fiver and TFTC in pristine quality I can't see the UK disc being worth getting although I too am interested in whether its uncut.

Amazon review likes the quality and says its widescreen

I bought it from HMV last night. Most likely watch it tomorrow.
What's cut from the U.S. Disc?

Thing is,Final Cut,the distributor has licensed it from Fox,so chances are it'll be identical to the R1 disc....

The Vault of Horror is the butchered American TV version with most of the bloody scenes censored, Tales from the Crypt is uncut though on the R1 edition. There is a version of Tales that features cuts to both the Poetic Justice and Wish You Were Here segments, shots of a bloodied beating heart and exposed intestines.I'll probably pick up the UK DVD as it doesn't have the heavily cut down version of Vault to ruin it.

Always found the Poetic Jutsice segment of this quite chilling, notably where a dead Grimsdyke enters the room in shadow.

Arguably the finest Amicus segment of them all.

Tales popped through the letterbox this morning. The UK DVD features a very nice transfer of the movie, which is fully uncut. There are no extras though and the back cover features stills included from the American TV series Tales from the Crypt.Quite why the DVD company included these images on the box is anyone's guess.

Yeah,wondered that myself...

Cover designer's only other claim to fame was designing the cover for 'Who Will Love My Children?'

Just been watching The Vault of Horror for the umpteenth time, and what always bothered me is that when ToM Baker blinds critic Fenton Breedley (Terence Alexander) by piercing his eyes in his portrait, his wife blinds him with a bottle of acid...Who the hell keeps acid in the bedroom..I suspose you have to assume this was premedated and she had it ready....
