Can I quote this paragraph on the official site please? Full links and credit of course:

"The Dead is one of the most uniquely interesting zombie movies to come about for some time. It has a wonderful air of familiarity about it whilst seeming totally original. It has an understated depth to it as we witness the plight of the African villagers. There is an allegorical content that appears to reflect the West’s inability to help African nations, either using military intervention or through major charities battling with the effects of famine. The movie inspires this kind of intellectual input from the viewer; Of course, you could just watch it as a tense, scary horror flick."

I like the idea of it being a classic box ticking zombie movie and an original film. Spot on!

The politics angle hasn't been mentioned on the main site either and I think you make an excellent point.

Thanks mate, if I realised you were putting the whole lot up I would have written it up again with better grammar and more detail. Could have mentioned how I went to take a piss and found myself standing at the urinal next to Howard, which made me all nervous so I got the fear and couldn't pee. That was a bit embarrassing.

Clearly this guy on Amazon isn't a fan, I haven't seen it myself yet but it's on my 'to buy' list.

I watched this on the strength of the other reviews, and the fact I like zombie movies. Big mistake! Yes I know the budget was low etc etc but certain things reuters to make a good film are free, like a plot, pacing etc. this is so boring with terrible acting. Basically something you would find on the horror channel at 1am. Avoid

Few films will please everyone. I might be promoting this movie so you can call bias if you like, but I think he's completely wrong.

The acting wasn't bad, it was sparse. Films set in the wilderness often are. The landscape itself often tells the story. Look at Walkabout.

As for plot, road movies don't rely on it and this is a road movie. Doesn't mean there isn't a plot, just that a road movie lends itself to being episodic and less story driven, like non horror road trip films such asTwo Lane Blacktop or Vanishing Point.
