Another very interesting director.
His FUNNY GAMES was great.
Once again his original far outshining the remake.

I also own The Piano Teacher and Benny's video, although I have yet to watch them.
I need to be in the right frame of mind for some arthouse.

Any other fans?

I should really watch some more Haneke stuff. Have only seen the two versions of Funny Games - the remake being almost as pointless as Van Sant's 'Psycho'

Keep meaning to check out Hidden and The Piano Teacher.

Yeah, I'll stand up and say I'm a huge fan of his films. I love Benny's Video, Funny Games and Hidden. I also like his often overlooked earlier films: 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance and The Seventh Continent.

Nothing is more pointless than Gus Van Sant's remake of Psycho.

Great to see all these gorehounds coming forward and admitting they enjoy some old arthouse now and again!

I've only seen "The Piano Player" which is pretty amazing. Isabelle Huppert gives a stunning performance. To be honest, I didn't really understand the ending so I read the source novel to see if that made things clearer to me...it didn't.

One of my favourite director's and 'The Piano Teacher' one of my very favourite films. 'The Time of the Wolf' is very good as well as those already mentioned, as is 'Code Unknown' although I must warn you that one's very arty. (Its sub-title is 'Incomplete Tales of Several Journey's').

His latest, 'The White Ribbon' is another brilliantly filmed mediation on the human condition.
