 UK Film Council to be scrapped!
Having helped to develop nearly 1000 projects, the UK Film Council is being given the chop after 10 years. It also provides the largest chunk of funding for the BFI, which apparently the government now wants to work more closely and directly with.. we'll see about that. I appreciate that cuts are having to be made to get the country anywhere near back on track but the UK Film Council is one of the government/lottery funded institutions that actually generates further income for the UK economy!
