Arrow Video - Silent Night, Deadly Night

Really looking forward to treating you all to a proper Christmas movie this year!

Silent Night, Deadly Night is out in November and here's a peek at Rick's painting and how it should look on the front cover. Reverse artwork to come...

I agree regarding the cover illustration and like you i've never seen SNDN either.
Just read about it in various books over the years. I think there's been 3 or 4 sequels in the series but i don't think any have reached British shores on any format.

SNDN could be another blind buy for me too if it's in the same league as those other slashers you mentioned and the film must at least be a decent genre offering for Arrow to release it in the U.K. So SNDN may just be worth checking out imo.

The immediate sequel was rejected by Ferman way back in the late 80's (wrong place, wrong time). The 4th one was released over here on video in 1996 as Bugs after a minor BBFC cut.

I've never seen it either, and dismissed SNDN & Street Trash as 'buys', but im definetley gonna buy both now.

On the artwork, really sorry but it dose'nt do it for me, it looks to cluttered. Sorry.
IMHO the poster art we seen earlier is much more sinister .

My commendations to Rick for a sterling job and for retaining much of the style of the poster - but I'm afraid I'm not a fan of this. The naked woman is just extremely out of place on there, and takes the attention away from the rest of the artwork itself.

If the original poster artwork (or similar) can be included then that will be great. Hopefully I'm in the minority but - apologies, it just doesn't work for me.

Can't say I like it either.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 25th September 2009 07:38 PM

The original artwork poster is a classic, but Rick's new one is certainly eyecatching. But I'm a sucker for originals.
