Yes. Even Island of Death got through even though it contains a Pissing scene, but Arrow Video Decided to PRE-CUT this film (ie Take out the Hardcore stuff).

There's no way the hardcore would have passed and as stated would be classified an R18-You wanna get the raincoat out and go into your nearest sexshop?

I know some arty films have been passed 18 with some HC footage,but this film definetly falls under exploitation,so there'd be no chance I reckon...

The BBFC are a bunch of jerks anyway and its all a case of double standards. We all know BAISE MOI, 9 SONGS, THE BROWN BUNNY, and of course CALIGULA amongst others have hard core sex scenes in them, which you can buy in HMV wherever.
But because BARE BEHIND BARS is 'exploitation' the film is a no-no with the censors. Dumb!
The BBFC have said many times in the past that any scenes involving hard core sex are reserved for sex shops only, but they then change their minds with e.g. CALIGULA, in which they state in so many words, the film is historic and showed what really happened during those times.
My point is, it's still hard core! So what's the problem with a 1980 exploitation film? The BBFC have countless rules and regulations (too many)but are they scared of complaints from the public et al if BBB were to be released uncut?
The whole sex shop law is stupid anyway.
Here in the UK we still live in dictatorial times.
Oh by the way, our forever out of touch politicians are just as dumb with the laws passed.

I agree. I don't see the point in pre-cutting a submission to the BBFC at all. Nucleus submitted the full version of Justine's Hot Nights and that one was passed uncut with hardcore content intact.

You may say, 'well I imagine that it would have probably been cut by the BBFC...', but the fact is you cannot say for certain; at least not unless you have the ability to see into the future!

Furthermore, I don't see the point in slagging off the BBFC for not passing the damn thing uncut. How can they be criticised for doing something that they haven't even done in this instance?
