The artwork was out of my hands but by that point I was choosing the films and writing the back of packs and so on - it was sad as I'd worked with the label from near the beginning and by then it was a ghost of what it once had been but it's very hard to argue with market forces. The stores (there were chains at that point!) only wanted to order dozens of units rather than the thousands they once had.

God I miss HKL. I recently showed a buddy my HKL version of Mr. Vampire and we had a blast. Totally wish they were still around.

Only miss it for the extras. Print quality wise, many of their prints were zoomed in and lacked definition. Many of their movies I ordered the Fortune Star print.

It's probably my favourite modern Hong Kong film - I think it's an awesome blend of thrills, dark humour and real tension with some great characters - it really deserves to be better known.
