Default What Asian films have you purchased lately.

I am still trying to replenish my Asian movies from when I had to sell most of them ages ago to pay debts , bills, etc from my redundancy. Here's my latest.

bdc, g053584398, oaxaca and 1 others like this.

It's been an eternity since my first (and only!) appointment with Dr. Lam and i seem to recall the film was watchable but not quite as shocking as Bunman:The Untold Story. I've always liked that cover design though.

I have never seen Dr lamb before and I am sure it will seem tamer than when first released. Untold Story is a good film, although extremely upsetting in places(especially to the average person), with a great central performance from Anthony Wong.

I personally like Dr. Lamb better than The Untold Story.
Great soundtrack and some stylish photography...

Seems some footage was "lost" because the HK censors demanded cuts before it's release.
Also the Winson dvd uses material(s) with some damage (missing frames around reel changes) which causes a slight continuity problem I seem to remember.
Some swearing is beeped out on the soundtrack (censored).

This Hk dvd version seems to be a composite that shows more than the HK cinema version btw.

The Austrian dvd has a little bit more of this "lost" footage but in inferior quality,it's also a composite it seems:

I have only ever seen Dr Lamb dubbed into Spanish. A bizarre experience. I would like to see it again in a more English friendly manner!

I owned the old Eastern Heroes VHS of NKIT and can't recall much about the film tbh bar Lau Kar Leung and Chin Kar Lok (i think) starring as good guys going up against Eddie Maher's villain.

The original MV makes for wonderful viewing but yours truly was disappointed with the sequel despite the presence of the ever-excellent Yuen Biao.

Imo MC has it's moments and the great Lam Ching Ying remains sorely missed. Nice to see Billy Chow lashing out with those lethal legs of his while serving under slinky sorceress Michiko Nishiwaki.

I suppose i'd give the film a second chance too sooner or later.

Just watched Magic Cop for the first time since I saw it at the Scala in the 90's.
Like Splatterdragon says it has its moments and Lam is always worth watching.
An enjoyable 90 mins of HK fun.
