Cast: George Eastan, Dirce Funari, Mark Shanon, Annj Goren

A team of scientists are sent on a mission to a Caribbean island to check the effects of atom bomb tests that took place 20 years before and also find the truth behind the rumours of a beast like creature that roams the island and kills the innocent. When they reach the island there appears to be no signs of life. The split up and start collecting specimens to take back with them. Stopping for a while two of the scientists (male and female) start making out unaware that they are being watched. Once they have finished the guy goes to wash himself off in the ocean when suddenly a hulking zombie pushes him under the water and drowns him. The zombie then turns his attention to the woman who is busy getting dressed. He pushes her down on her knees and then whips out his huge penis and chokes her to death!. When the others stumble upon the bloody remains of the woman they realise that the rumours are true and must try to stay alive until a boat arrives the next day.

As you can probably guess from the title, this is more of a sex film than horror and most of the running time is devoted to the various sexual shenanigans of the cast: 2 black guys on 1 girl, Mark Shannon (who really should see a doctor) having sex with almost every female member of the cast, lesbian sex between Dirce Funari and Annj Goren (unlike the rest of the sex stuff this is not hardcore), and the zombie graphically raping the girls with his monster cock. The acting is poor but then again its doubtful they where hired for their acting 'talent'. Nico Fidenco contributes one his best scores with an insanely catchy theme tune and a creepy synth score. D’Amato’s photography is ok but its obvious that this film was shot on the cheap. Apparently Bruno Mattei co directed this film. Not sure how true that is.

Not D’Amato’s best film but its worth a look for anyone who is into euro (s)exploitation.

Transfer & Audio:
The DVD from Exploitation Digital has a anamorphic 1.85:1 transfer that looks good and the audio is in Italian with English subs.

Extras:
The biggest extra is an interesting interview with George Eastman (aka Luigi Montefiori) who discusses his work with D'Amato, Pupi Avati and Mario Bava. He tells some interesting stories about the film saying that it was made as a way to make money whilst they were on holiday and that he thinks the sudden interest in italian exploitation is just a fad.
The original trailer is also included along with a photo gallery and trailers for other Shriek Show/ Exploitation Digital Titles (SS Hell Camp, Erotic Nights of the Living Dead, Yellow Emanuelle)

I've never seen this movie with subtitles, I have the X-rated Kult DVD that has no subs so I've never had a clue what the hell is going on - the result is very, very trippy!
