The Beyond


A young woman from New York named Liza (Katherine MacColl) inherits a Louisiana motel that has been unoccupied for nearly 60 years. While restoring the old building, many of the workers meet mysterious and untimely deaths, each more ill-fated than the next. Furthermore, Liza is visited by a blind specter named Emily (Sarah Keller) who lectures from a 4,000-year-old book of collected prophecies that explains the motel is situated above one of seven portals to hell.

As her sanity dwindles, Liza finds some much-needed stability in a local doctor named John McCabe (David Warbeck), who is determined to find a rational explanation for the recent state of affairs. Nevertheless, the protagonists are led through a maze of bizarre confrontations with beings beyond the realm of the living, and into an apocalyptic world of unknown horrors.

The Beyond is at once the quintessential Lucio Fulci film and a staple in the overall Italian horror genre. The director's epic masterpiece is a blend of atmospheric surrealism and nightmarish visions (a grisly tarantula attack, flesh-melting acid spills, a softball-sized gun blast through the skull of a young zombified girl, and an eyeball impaling or two) that are definitely unsuitable for those with weak stomachs.

Dr. Norman Boyle (Paolo Malco), of the New York Historical Society, accepts a research assignment abandoned by a colleague who has committed suicide. The project requires the researcher to temporarily take up residence in a New England mansion along with his wife, Lucy (Katherine MacColl) and their son, Bob (Giovanni Frezza).

Norman discovers his colleague had become consumed with the history of the home's original owner, a turn-of-the-Century surgeon named Dr. Freudstein who possessed a fondness for illegal experiments. Further investigation reveals Freudstein had found a way to stay alive by using cells derived from fresh human blood. The Boyles find out the hard way that the maggot-stuffed, undead doctor remains lurking in the shadows of the house, killing anybody who crosses his path.

The House Of Lost Souls

HOUSE OF LOST SOULS is part of a four-part movie series made for Italian television under the umbrella title House of Doom. Legendary Italian horror maestros Umberto Lenzi and Lucio Fulci each contributed two films for the series: Lenzi made HOUSE OF LOST SOULS and HOUSE OF WITCHCRAFT, while Fulci offered HOUSE OF CLOCKS and SWEET HOUSE OF HORRORS.


Lenzi's first contribution to the series centres on a group of young geologists who spend the night in an abandoned hotel haunted by the previous landlord's murders of his family and all the hotel's guests. The bloody past come back to life with eerie occurrences like ghostly cries of pain, the appearance of corpses and tarantulas, and blood dripping from the ceiling. Soon, the murders begin anew as the geologists are killed in bizarre and horrific ways, including one unlucky fellow who loses his head in a washing machine. Full of extreme gore and graphic bloodletting, HOUSE OF LOST SOULS reaffirms Lenzi's position as one of the kings of splatter films.

The Sweet House Of Horrors

This tender yet desperate act results in disastrous consequences as the parents attempt to both comfort their children and exact revenge on their murderer. The Sweet House Of Horrors is a strange departure for Fulci, who creates an unusual mix of genres ranging from his trademark horror to some unexpected moments of comedy.

The Bronx Warriors
In the year 1990 the Bronx is officially declared a no man's land. The authorities have given up all attempts to restore law and order leaving the area to be ruled by a gang known as the Riders. She soon finds herself under the protection of the Riders' leader, Trash. The New Barbarians
The year is 2019 and a nuclear war has reduced humanity to small groups of starving survivors. Ghost Story

Colin is the £45 Zombie movie! Already a worldwide phenomenon with huge coverage of the film since it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, first time film-maker Marc Price has made a film like no other before it - told through the Zombie's (Colin) perspective.

Blood Rain

In this version of the golem legend, the golem, a clay statue brought to life by Rabbi Loew in 16th century Prague to save the Jews from the ongoing brutal persecution by the city's rulers, is found in the rubble of an old synagogue in the 20th century. Brought to life by an antique dealer, the golem is used as a menial servant. Eventually falling in love with the dealer's wife, it goes on a murderous rampage when its love for her goes unanswered.

When a woman named Diana sends her sister Sheila mysterious footage of an apparently cannibalistic ritual taking place at the camp, Sheila becomes determined to rescue her. Arriving in New Guinea, Sheila hires an ex-G.I. to help her put together an expedition to the camp with the intention of forcibly removing Diana.

Tremors 2 - Aftershocks


When a remote Mexican oilfield comes down with a nasty case of Graboids (for the uninitiated: giant carnivorous worms with tunnelling abilities that put Bugs Bunny to shame), it is up to those veteran monster exterminators Burt and Earl to save the day--and accumulate some much-needed payola in the process. But this time, the slimy critters may have a few new tricks up their ... um, sleeves. Although denied a chance to appear in the cinema, this unjustly neglected direct-to-video sequel delivers the same winning mixture of cornpone and gore that made the original Tremors a cult classic. Although Kevin Bacon is missing, Michael Gross and the wonderful Fred Ward reprise their roles from the first film. A hoot-and-a-half for horror and SF fans, Tremors 2 has some genuine scares and a welcome sense of humour. The DVD, presented in 1.85:1 widescreen format, has trailers for both movies but no other extra features.

Dying breed


Tasmania, Australia, the world's most isolated island.

It's rumoured deep within Tasmania's wilderness an ancient species known as the Tasmanian tiger is alive and breeding. Yet modern science refuses to believe such a creature now exists since no witnesses have ever been able to prove it. That is, until zoology student, Nina, claims she can breach Tasmania's impenetrable forests and reveal the tiger's existance to be true. Driving Nina's quest is one critical piece of proof: a paw print taken by her sister just before she met with a fatal accident eight years ago.

But what Nina doesn't know is how Tasmania became Australia and the world's most dangerous island in the 19th Century when the murderous convict Alexander Pearce (aka "The Pieman") broke out of prison only to eat his fellow escapees. Amsterdamned


When the brutally mutilated body of a hooker is discovered suspended from a bridge in the heart of Amsterdam's popular tourist district the city's police fear the worst.
