This isn't an upcoming release, it was released in may I think, but didn't know where else to post it...

M - A city looks for a murderer - 80th Anniversary Edition (+ DVD) [Blu-ray] Digibook

This has been released in Germany, not sure if it has been mentioned already but it looks like an excellent set and possibly a better alternative to the UK release. The remaster was done by the company who did the Criterion version, but after that version was released so they were able to spend more time on it and it includes additional footage too. Looks a classy package!

I really shouldn't even consider buying that as I own M a few times on DVD and BD, but I love those Digibooks!

All that gore should look great in HD. Also I prefer the title Braindead to Dead Alive. I'll buy it anyway.

Will it be uncut though? Wasn't Dead Alive orginally editted of some of it's more gratuitous moments for US audiences?

Sorry! Just checked and there's two versions for the US one edited, one uncut.

I hadn't thought of that, so thanks for checking and confirming the uncut status.

No problem. I guess we'll just have to hope that Lionsgate aren't stupid enough to release a BluRay of the cut version!

That would be a stupid decision, but Lionsgate are generally pretty good at 'pushing the envelope' and releasing uncut or unrated DVDs/BDs. I doubt there'd be much of a market for a BD of a cut version.

Nope!
Both US versions are cut!
The unrated disc is 2.5 min shorter then the European cut.
So no buy for me if it is the US unrated cut, lets hope they release the European cut.
