As much as I'm looking forward to Aliens, Back to the Future, The Exorcist etc... this is the release that has me hooked. One of the best 1980's tv classics and to this day the best ever Robin Hood story, presented in HD for the first time This for me is the must own Blu-ray title of the year so far. |

Sh*t! More money to find! i really wished I hadn't seen this ![]() I love that series! By far, the best adaptation of the Robin Hood legend that there has been. I liked Series 3 of the recent BBC show, but the previous seasons consisted of the same recycled plots over and over again; running through the same East European woodlands culminating in rescuing the latest person to have been captured in the castle. RofS had far more depth and entertainment value and a ethereal Clannad score to go with it. |

I agree, this show is a must have of the 1980's and still the best ever telling of Robin Hood. The episodes were so well written by Richard Carpenter who also wrote the Dick Turpin series starring Richard O'Sullivan (which I also have and have noticed many similarities to Robin of Sherwood) The acting throughout was superb and the filming locations were stunning. One of the best things about the series was the music used, with the Clannad soundtrack being so atmospheric. Everything just seemed to come together to produce the ultimate Robin Hood story. The blu -ray set contains all of the Michael Praed episodes (series 1&2) which were the highlight of the series anyway and with brand new HD transfers, these are said to look better than ever before. One slight issue however, is that Network appear to have removed this from their web sites forthcoming releases, so I am praying that it hasn't been cancelled. I have emailed them to find out and will post here just as soon as I get some answers. |

A fantastic series. Lets hope it's still coming out. One thing about the UK vhs realeses, the episodes all featured the Robin Of Sherwood logo that appeared at the ad breaks when it was shown on tv. I wonder if they're still there.

The quality of the DVD sets is stunning! As is the quality of Season One of Space 1999. I imagine that Blu-Ray releases for either series would look spectacular. Fingers crossed that the BR of RoS has not been shelved.

| Yeah I cannot agree enough with that sentiment. Was really looking forward to this after it was announced and it will be a real kick in the you know whats if it has been withdrawn. A postponement while not ideal would be better....

| no probs mate, one thing I noticed is that is states limited edition, I don't know how limited or even why, but I will pre order this to be on the safe side. I only hope it sells enough so that they release series 3 on blu-ray as well. I'm looking forward to doing an in depth Obscura review for this one. |
