I've got this version;Night Of The Living Dead [Blu-ray] [1968]: Amazon.co.uk: Judith O'Dea, Duane Jones, Karl Hardman, Keith Wayne, Russell Streiner, Marilyn Eastman, William Hinzman, Judith Reilly, George A. Romero: DVD

The picture and sound is very good and you get the feature length documentary; "Another one for the fire" [sic]

I haven't seen the other BR version buyt I recommend the one above, having had a number of different versions on VHS and DVD.

The Optimum disc seems to be the way to go. It's been nicely remastered, sounds good but does suffer from framing issues as a result.

The Network version has no framing issues but they've done bugger all to clean it up & it runs 35 seconds shorter than the Optimum version, including 7 seconds of which is dialogue.

The only extras are a trailer where as the Optimum version has a full length documentary.

Oh & obviously the Optimum version is uncut!

Is the Optimum Blu worth getting despite the cropping? I saw some comparison shots and got a little worried.

Yeah the cropping is a disappointment but the A/V is terrific IMO. I have the Australian BD which is said to use the same transfer. I'm pretty happy with it until a properly framed version that has comparable A/V quality is released.

I'm still waiting. I saw some caps of the Optimum and lopping the tops of heads off is not the one! If nothing else comes along before long then I'll probably get it but I really wish Arrow would do one too so the first three could all match up and they could get the framing right.

I agree. An Arrow release of NOTLD would be awesome. Perhaps a double-disc of the original and 1990 remake. i know the remake isn't great but I think it has a charm, along with a good cast.

I would definitely buy an Arrow release of NOTLD if it included Savini's remake. If not, then I'm happy to stick with my Optimum version.
