"Scanners" has been taken off the "index of restricted movies" a few years back whereas the uncut "Halloween II" (1981) is still banned in Germany.
So there would be no need to release a censored "Scanners" on Blu over there any more in any case.
Many German labels have reversible covers nowadays due to the big "FSK"-covered sleeves being not too popular with collectors.

Were previous DVD releases not uncut, then?

No, they were all uncut.

"Scanners" didn't hit DVD in Germany until it was taken off the "index"- surprisingly earning an uncut "FSK 16" (!) after having been prohibted from being openly sold or advertised for 2 decades!

Was that an unintentional pun?!

I'm going to look into buying this as I like the film, the Blu-ray cover is a good one (as long as you can get rid of the FSK 16 rating) and it should look and sound terrific in HD.

And I bet that Warner are one of the companies that don't have reversible covers?

I hope they're not as that could be the difference between a purchase and waiting for something better.

Scanners isn't from Warner. I was just trying to find out about Warner because they're releasing Lola Rennt. Like yourself Nos, I don't want something with that FSK logo.

Right, that's okay as I have the SPHE release of Run Lola Run and probably won't buy another BD unless it is significantly better. I only own Scanners on DVD (from the box set) so would love that on Blu-ray along with other Cronenberg films like The Brood, eXistenZ and Dead Ringers.
