So as of this very moment at the end of 2012 is there a region free version of Scanners on bluray that you can point me too? Is the German release the only one?

I think the German is the only one so far, and it appears that Second Sight are due to release a Steelbook in the UK in the near future: Scanners Blu-ray (United Kingdom)

Thanks, and of course it is going to be region B. Is there a reason why I feel there is a plot to not let people in this region view awesome new versions of films I love on bluray hah?

Multi-region Blu-ray players are cheap, I've got 3 of them!

I've just checked and not all Second Sight Blu-rays are region locked anyway, so don't write it off yet!

And that's exactly how those of us locked to region B feel about Region A locked titles.

It makes me laugh, because on another (unnamed) forum, which is predominantly American, when people in Region B feel disappointed that a title is locked to region A, the response is to tell them not to whine but go multi-region. However, when a title they want comes out and is locked to region B, they play holy hell and say it should be region-free. Funny that, isn't it?
