The Ken Russell directed horror will be available to own from the 20th May, and should retail at around $19.99. As far as we know, no extra material will be included. "Originally rated X, this film combines historical, comedic, and surrealistic elements to tell a tale of politics and witchcraft. In order to take over pre-rennaisance France, Cardinal Richelieu and his power-hungry followers will have to eliminate Father Grandier. Grandier controls the one town that keeps Richelieu from having total control of the region. The plan is to convince the townspeople that Grandier is a warlock and that all of his nuns are possessed by devils. The accusations are heard at a public trial - whose results may surprise you."

I have a feeling this will be the one we have all been waiting for ,a 2 Disc Set and containing (amongst others ) the CH4 Documentary,a Ken Russell Commentary and scenes not included in the cinema version (Rape of Christ etc ).

I've still got the Maverick Directors VHS thankfully which will (still!) have to suffice until WB get their bloody finger out with this film. Surely they must see by now just what a popular seller this would be?

A restored print (including the now-rediscovered Rape Of Christ and the climactic tibia bone masturbation scenes) is looong overdue.

Yes I agree. The planned sleeve was a disaster. Even the WB Vanessa Redgrave VHS cover was better than that.

It's madness that it's been cancelled, it's such a powerful film and should be seen. Surely it's time people should be able to make up their own minds about it?

I would like to obtain this film in its FULL and uncut version on official DVD release!..when ever if this going to be released in the future!
