A good (b&w) horror anthology from 1945 starring Googie Withers & Michael Redgrave. The best story has got to the be the last one starring Redgrave as the ventriloquist. Hugo the dummy is scary as hell. It's still an effective horror film today - quite chilling. It must have been really quite frightening for 40s audiences... The ending is a knockout. Anyone here seen it? If you have, what did you think? |

An excellent film. I have the R1 Anchor Bay set with Queen of Spades (a good film too but very slow). My favourite section is the dummy one too. Very atmospheric.

One of my favourites of all time, Proud owner of a copy myself. Out of interest looking at the date of your post Reaps, have you seen this baby yet?. If not I recomend separating your pile into a "Too Watch" and a "Recomended to watch" and put this Gem on the latter |

Yeah, pretty damn good, although the golf story, with its humorous aspects did nothing for me im afraid. Im in the majority here, with the final story of the dummy being my fave. |

| I have to confess it has been years since I saw this, but the dummy section has always stayed with me.

I just watched this the other night, saw it years ago on late night telly and it really creeped me out, after watching it the other night I realised the ending of Lenzi`s Nightmare City is pretty much the same.

Yes it's a great film. Still among the all-time horror anthology classics. |

Great film. I really enjoy the 'haunted mirror' segment here, although I agree the ventriloquist's dummy is the standout story. Fantastic ending too.
