A husband and wife are sent to a mental institution for a series of cannibalistic killings. 18 years later they are released... I got myself a copy of this quite cheaply. On viewing I was pleasantly surprised. Well acted with nice and kills and gore. Sheila Keith portrays madness perfectly as the cannibal Dorothy Yates. What are people opinions on this movie? I saw Frightmare for the first time when I got hold of the Odeon Entertainment DVD, and really enjoyed it.It's not as bloody as I thought it was going to be, but the atmosphere and the performances of Sheila Keith and Rupert Davies more than made up for that. It's one of the better 70s British horror films IMO.

Quite possibly my fav Pete Walker film. Sheila Keith is fab in all his stuff. I saw it back when the UK coffin shaped collections (released by the now defunct Anchor Bay label) came out. Also picked up the Amicus, Tigon and Norman J. Warren sets at the time.

| Anchor Bay/Starz are far from defunct. I know they've moved away from genre releases a bit since their heyday, but they're still very much active.
