Default Low budget sci-fi and horror hybrids

With Shameless releasing THE BEAST IN SPACE,it got me thinking.....what other low budget epic space opera's are out there?

Obviously with the success of ALIEN and STAR WARS in the late seventies, the indie boys were eager to jump on the cash bandwagon.

Some I can think of are;

GALAXY OF TERROR
FORBIDDEN WORLD
INSEMINOID
CONTAMINATION
XTRO
BREEDERS
INVADERS FROM MARS
STRANGE INVADERS
MONSTER IN THE CLOSET
LIFEFORCE
CRITTERS
TRANCERS
PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES
PREY

Trancers (and it's sequels) are some of my favourite B-movies. Tim Thomerson is perfectly cast as Jack Deth. The man should have been a bigger star instead of relegated to low budget movies and supporting roles.

Galaxy of Terror, LifeForce, Prey and Contamination are all great films for me. Deadly Spawn, Transmorphers 1 & 2 are also cheapo alien / robot / sci fi horrors I love.

Was'nt Galaxy of Terror remade at some time .?

Re Trancers Steve,I really need to pick this up on dvd.
Don't think I've seen it since the eighties!

Note how that poster is designed to cash in on Blade Runner?

Can't leave out 'The Humanoid' with Richard Kiel. Been absolute years since I saw it and my memory of it is hazy but I remember it being cheap fun. Surprised that hasn't got a dvd release somewhere.

I'm sure there's loads i can't remember. Between me and my dad we used to buy Starburst, Starlog and Fangoria every month for years in the late '70's/early '80's. Always seemed to be at least one new cheapie getting mentioned every time, haha..
