| There's lots of classic movies in this decade. Some of the best ever made in fact. For instance,I sat and watched ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN the other night all the way through for the first time, and was enthralled by it. Discuss your favourite non-horror movies of the seventies here.

| No seventies film fans then? DELIVERANCE is one of the best of the decade, and with that shock ending, certainly gave Brian De Palma and Sean S Cunningham a wee push in the right direction. ![]() GET CARTER is Caine's finest performance bar none.He oozes cool, calm and collectiveness. The first time I saw it,I was flabberghasted at that shock ending....... DOG DAY AFTERNOON is one of legend Pacino's finest performances, not to mention the criminally underrated John Cazale, who was tragically lost to the acting world at a relatively young age. ![]() A CLOCKWORK ORANGE is Kubrick's finest IMO,a thought provoking film with a stellar performance from McDowell as the evil yet charming bastard Alex.

My favourite non-horror film from the seventies is... Andrei Tarkovsky's 1972 claustrophobic sci-fi fantasy drama: Solaris (which is also my favourite film of all time)

Ah so many many good films during the 70's.From where to start? The Taxi Driver,The Deer Hunter,The Godfather,Deliverance,Apocalypse Now...........................and so on.There was a time of melancholy and also a time of rebellious minds that expressed their ideas through movies without taboo.

| Deliverance and Jaws aren't horror films? Since when?

| According to IMDB they're not, but I've always considered Jaws a horror film. Deliverance on the other hand, not. I suppose it comes down to an individuals interpretation on a film; I've never seen Seven and Silence of the Lambs, and The Vanishing as horror film either, but understand that many people do.
