I have yet to own any Code Red releases, but this thread keeps making me want't to change that! I think my first purchase will be Nightmare, as I just love Aussie horror. I just hope it doesn't go oop before I find the cash to buy it.

I cannot wait till Cutthroats Nine - never seen it!

I still haven't had a chance to watch Devil Times Five, but a quick look at it confirms the PQ is astoundingly better than the public domain version I saw last month.

CUT THROATS NINE isn't that good, it's certainly very violent but boring IMO.

Though to be fair I have only seen it via a really crap bootleg.

Doh, I always get those two mixed up! Thanks for pointing out it was actually Severin who released Nightmares, as I was under the illusion that it was Code Red.

Your marketing techniques sure do work, this is a must buy for me.

WTF? Get off this blog and never return!

Rule 1 - Never say a Code Red release is poor.

The moderator will be out to get you.

I like Cut-Throats Nine...great soundtrack as well.

Originally this was to be a standalone release with interviews and a replica "terror mask":

"I'd just like to let everyone about the two releases that didn't turn out the way I wanted. CUTTHROATS NINE was supposed to be a deluxe edition with an interview by English language rights owner Serafim Karalexis (president of United International Pictures) who paid the filmmakers to re-shoot the violent scenes, an interview with Jim Markovic who re-cut the film and made the trailer, and also a copy of the "terror mask" that was given out to audiences at the theatre box-office. In the end, Markovic couldn't find the original mask, and Serafim didn't want to do the interview. Without extras, I could never outsell the 2,000 copies Eurovista moved on this title. Since the Fred Williamson series sold less than 750 copies, releasing JOSHUA alone would also be a losing proposition. I figured that instead of sitting on the two films, why not double bill two titles that were going nowhere for a single release. Both films are mastered from 35mm prints and they look a lot better then those "other" releases (JOSHUA looks ten times better than those PD labels!)" (Bill/CR)
