The lost footage to Clive Barker's Nightbreed has been found, but the studio doesn't think that there isn't an audience for a director's cut.

I'm not fond of Nightbreed either... signed it too though - I think every film should be shown how the Director intended - no matter how bad it may be!

Sorry for posting on an old thread - but... I love Nightbreed!

Met Simon Bamford (Butterball/Ohnaka) at Memorabilia last year. I asked him about the Nightbreed footage - said the rough cut screened, was really rough and needed filters applying (or something like that). ...but also said Clive Barker was keen to get the directors cut out - so there's still hope!

I Love it too. Saw it at the the cinema on release, still got my Nightbreed Chronicles & Clive Barker's Nightbreed: The Making of the Film book & own the R1 dvd.

Hopefully with the lost footage re-instated it'll bear more resemblance to the original Cabal novel (which is cracking by the way) & Clive Barker's original vision.

I think the problem with Nightbreed when it came out was the marketing people & the studio put it out as a horror movie due to Barker's success with Hellraiser which Nightbreed/Cabal clearly isn't, it's fantasy. Obviously it failed at the box office & I believe Clive Barker became quiet jaded with Hollywood as a result.

I for one would welcome a Directors Cut of this. So I'll sign the petition & keep my fingers crossed!
