The assault on Me Me Lai was censored as well as the animal cruelty but this film works perfectly well without the scenes as its one of the better films. If you have Zone Horror, watch it on there first & then decide if you want to buy it as it's cut the same as the dvd.

Haven't seen the film as yet but was thinking about looking at the UK disc. The cuts wouldn't bother me. Although I know Vince feels strongly about the cutting of the sexual violence.

Yes there are 2 cuts in the film. One is the (revolting & senseless) scene where a live crocodile is gutted. The other is the rape of Me Me Lai by Massimo Foschi (in the cut version he simply punches her when she starts yelling and the scene fades to black).

I don't exactly approve of explicit sexual violence in movies unless it's absolutely justified but in this case it was important to the plot. In the uncut version Foschi rapes Lai anally and in an animal style, as it's the only way her character (a tribal girl) can be made 'submissive' to him, whereupon she then helps him to escape.

I remember seeing it on the cinema in the 80's as Cannibal (paired with Psychic Killer) and all the gore scenes were reduced to flash shots, including Lai's death.

Oh the shame! Oh the humiliation!!!

If you've never seen it uncut, then its worth a fiver.
The cut is to the rape of native girl Me Me Lai, by her companion Rassimov, its not really the savagery that got the got the rape cut imo , more the context, which is still clear in cut form.
As Angel says the other cut is for a crockidle killing.

SHRIEK SHOW also have Deep River Savages, which as far as I know is only cut for animal violence, all human violence is intact.

VIPCO & now Blackhorse , have Mountain of the Cannibal god which seems to have just the animal violence, cut and pig sex missing, as graphic male castrations etc remain.
One scene were a large lizard get cut open and its heart removed is still there, but trimmed slightly in the UK release.
The pig shagging scene, forgive the phrase, was unavailable to VIPCO at time of release, so it might pass today if Blackhorse submit it.
VIPCO UK versions of Ferox and Eaten Alive should be avoided at all costs. Cut to pieces mate.

Sorry Vince, didn't see your post.
I use PS3 to browse and it takes ages to write a post with an on screen keyboard and a game pad. I cant use a keyboard for certain reasons.

The UK "Last Cannibal World" DVD is still pretty watchable compared to VIPCO'S releases of "Eaten Alive" and "Cannibal Ferox".
The only uncut R2 release with English audio I know of being still available easily is included in the Scandinavian "Cannibal Collection" 3 disc set with "Deep River Savages" and "Amazonia". All uncensored, but "Deep River" only boosts Italian audio with Scandinavian subs whereas "Last Cannibal World" has BOTH, an English AND and Italian track! "Amazonia" comes only in English though and that's the one I've still gotta watch.

Don't forget the dreadful Ferox 2 and Holocaust 2 , both nothing to do with the original's , both cut and both 20 quid each.
AVOID .!
Hard to say if the UK dvd of Cannibal Holocaust is worth getting , especially at 20 quid from VIPCO, though you do get Deodato's HOTEOTP but its cut more than Holocaust !

Cannibal Terror and Jess Franco's Cannibals ( SHRIEK ) are uncut as far as I know in the UK.
