Default What's The Most Times You've Bought The Same Movie....

Sorry if this thread already exists somewhere (I searched!), but I was just wondering, as an avid (and somewhat obsessed!) collector of my favourite films, I often find myself double or triple dipping!

I discovered horror as a young lad, watching Hammer and Universal films on TV late on Saturday nights, and by the time I was 13/14 (1993), the "video nasty" witch hunts had started up again, so this led me to an interest in Fulci, Argento, etc....however, out of this I became particularly interested in various film makers, and I ended up writing a paper on George Romero's "Dead Trilogy" (well, this was before Land, Diary and Survival) in 1997. Over the years I've ended up with the following versions of Dawn of the Dead....after the cut UK video (with the colourful cover from Entertainment in Video) I got the insanely deluxe Elite Laserdisc with the black/silver design, think I paid about £100 for that! yikes!

But since then, I picked up the Elite/Anchor Bay DVD of the director's Cut, the Theatrical cut, the Ultimate Edition from Anchor Bay and finally the Arrow release which I (HOPE) is the final word on this movie. Same with "Day", I've got 2 Region 1 DVD's & the Arrow one. night, I think I have 3 Region 1 releases & the Optimum Blu Ray.

I've got a few releases of Suspiria, and numerous Fulci doubles (ZFE/HBTC/COTLD/The Beyond), first from E.C. then from Anchor Bay,a nd then Arrow, but I was just wondering if someone out there does the same thing with their fave movies? I'm up to 8 copies of Zombie Flesh Eaters, though 2 are VHS, the Arrow release will be my 9th!

Thankfully I don't do this with everything, over the years I'm resigned to just getting 1 release with the most extras and if they bring out an extended version I'll either ignore it or sell my old 1 one and get the longer/more extras packed version.

Surely someone has to be as/more obsessed than me?

Original Star Wars trilogy for me, I have the first Widescreen VHS release, the Executor tin VHS set, the single digitally remastered VHS releases, Special Edition VHS, first DVD release boxset, the second DVD release with untampered editions as bonus disc and finally the Blu Rays.

I used to have the Special Editions on VCD as well by must have sold them.

Star Wars , Night of the Living Dead , Dawn of the Dead , Day of the Dead , Akira , Enter the Dragon Demons 1 & 2 when my Blu Rays arrive. I have many different versions of each of these on both Dvd and VHS just need the Blu Rays of Star Wars to have all those on multiple formats.
