Default Is It Uncut?

I always browse the web to find out if one of my dvd's is really uncut. But it's pretty difficult to find a site where they can give you the absolute confirmation it's uncut. So i thought a thread where you can ask if someone else knows a dvd is really uncut or not would be nice.

My question:

Is the Dont Go In The Woods Alone dvd from Shock DVD uncut?

According to dvdcompare.net it is.

Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - Don't Go In The Woods... Alone! AKA Don't Go In The Woods (1982)

Yeah I found that too, but it says on dvdcompare the dvd should have collectors cards and a different aspect ratio than on the website of Shock itself. So im pretty confused :P

This is part of reason why I started my own thread asking what best version to buy, Because sometimes I have a film stating its uncut but on DVD compare time might state ten min longer, or other way might state a say 98 min but I might have a version that's 105 min,
Sometimes they might. Only have say eg 2 releases by different companies but I might have a film that isn't on the site by the company that released it.

Yeah thats exactly my problem, there's no website or forum where they can tell you for sure it's uncut or not. Maybe this thread as a beginning? :P

With cult/exploitation/horror I think you should always do your homework because its a real waste if u buy the wrong edition for alot of money.

As I posted on Gag's film hunting thread-I find the advice and knowledge we all possess between us on here is better than any comparison site. That being said, I still do some research or my own as well as reading the posts here

Agreed and i do the same. The best course of action to take imo.

My mistake, but when yours truly saw the title of this thread i initially thought it was about the Midnight Media fanzine of the same name!

DVD Compare is an informative site but not an infallible one. Like all else on the 'net the info available for perusal is only as good as the knowledge of the person posting it.

I dont know which release you are talking about but that sounds like the 4% speed-up of the film when you release it in PAL from NTSC.

Example: Don't Torture a Duckling
Blue Underground: 102 min (NTSC)
Shameless: 98 min (PAL)
