Default Bill Forsyth King of the 'Whimsy'

Bill Forsyth,Glaswegian born in 1946 is known for his light hearted comedies.
Films such as Gregory's Girl,Local hero and Comfort and Joy remain favourites of mine when wanting a break from horror and violence.

It's a pity there's not a decent dvd of his 'That Sinking Feeling'

IMO,Forsyth's films deserve the red carpet treatment on DVD,and I'm sure a lot of the familiar faces would eagerly participate on these.

Any other fans of his films out there?

I've never seen any of his films and would like to, but I know Mark Kermode is a huge fan as has been mentioned on the 5 Live film review show and when they were live in Edinburgh.

Being a Glaswegian myself, I love Gregory's Girl. It's up there with Restless Natives as one of my favourite Scottish films.

Not seen Comfort And Joy in years. I should really seek it, and Local Hero out.

Would you reckon these films deserve the SE treatment Steve?

Definately, and someone has to use that artwork for Gregory's Girl. Every release I've ever seen has had horrendous covers, usually just a couple of photos from the movie of John Gordon Sinclair and Dee Hepburn.
