So true, Tris. We knew nothing of it and only found out when we had gotten to a Welwyn Garden City film fair that day. Managed to book tickets and get down there just as the second film finishing. Well worth the effort though, as I said, got to meet Enzo and Franco. A great day.

Never knew you had helped organise it. Big thanks to you for a very memorable event

I only came onboard at a later stage to conduct interviews....if I had known about it earlier I would have screamed about this event from the rooftops.

Ironically, it was I that brought the promo material and leaflets along to the Welwyn Garden City film fair as I was working for Paul at Midnight Media at the time.

Quite a few cult movie fans spent an unexpected evening in london that night...pleased you were one of them.

Has anyone here seen Fulci's White Fang flicks with Nero? I picked up a bootleg of what I thought was Challenge to White Fang (which I discovered later I already owned on the Spaghetti 44 movie collection) and put it in the other night...only to find out that the actual movie contained was Fulci's ORIGINAL Zanna Bianca in quite a good print, I might add!

Really loved the first one (not for kids, however! Tons of dog on bear violence, stabbing and throat chomping!) and looking forward to cracking open Challenge on said box set. Think I also own the Merli Fang flick somewhere, as well, and I think Brescia also directed one with Malisa Longo, if I'm not mistaken?

I've never seen them, mate. There are also similar spin-off films with Maurizio Merli too.

Fulci absolutely hated Nero, btw - someone I know took his pre-cert of MASSACRE TIME along to the Eurofest 94 where Fulci was present - Lucio dedicated and signed the cover and added "This man is a dog" in Italian next to Nero's face!

I had the sequel THE RETURN OF WHITE FANG but it was in Italian only. Still watched it though!

The first one used to show up on Sky channel Movies for Men. I never saw it but Brad Steven's reported in Dark Side that it was correctly letterboxed but missing a scene in which White Fang fights a bear.

From what I can gather, Fulci seemed to hate everybody and everything!

I read an article by Antonella Fulci (in Diabolik mag issue 2, I think) in which she said that during the filming of the second Fulci was waiting to start and shouted 'Bring me the actor dog and the dog actor'. She then said they got into a proper big fight and started throwing punches at each other.

There were also White Fang movies by Tonino Ricci and Maurizio Pradeaux.

That's very funny

From what I've heard elsewhere Nero's quite a nice guy - must have just been a clash of personalities.

That's where I saw the film Pete and I seem to remember seeing that scene in the picture, thinking it was pretty strong for a Saturday afternoon. It's actually a very worthwhile film, I'd pick it up if it was available...

The Fang vs. Bear scene was pretty grim, indeed. That's crazy about Fulci and Nero. What a complex (misunderstood?) man Fulci, was....though Signore Sparanero seems like a nice enough chap to me!
