Each generation creates tales of horror... stories that seep through the very heart of our collective fears. The legendary Hammer Studios is recognized as the high watermark of the Gothic macabre, creating some of the most chilling and recognizable horror films of all time.

In 1980, Hammer took over the old Hampden Manor House in the heartland of England and produced a series of thirteen horror stories to air on British television. With a host of Hammer regulars, including Peter Cushing (Twins of Evil, Star Wars) and Denholm Elliot (Raiders of the Lost Ark), along with early appearances by actors like Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye), each episode provides a completely new and individual tale of terror and suspense.

Synapse Films is proud to present the complete series of HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR, presented in their original airdate order, with all-new introductions and supplemental features.

I remember when this series first aired on TV and all the episodes were broadcast just after 9pm on a Saturday and I was allowed to stay up and watch them. Then the very last episode, for reasons unknown, was braodcast at about 11.30pm and so I missed that one. I was gutted.

Luckily I got to watch them all.

I don't think my parents cared too much at that point.

I picked up the U.K. release for £15 years ago but i'll still be buying the forthcoming U.S. set for the extras and potentially improved PQ.

The Two Faces Of Evil is probably my fave HHOH episode and that opening scene scared me quite a bit when i was a kid.

The House That Bled To Death, Children Of The Full Moon and The Silent Scream are good tales too imo.

It's pretty easy to pick up 2nd hand here for £6-10 on the High street.

Isn't one of the episodes kind of a sequel to one of the films. I really need to get this set and do a marathon of it.

I think The House That Bled To Death is great fun - really quite grimy, nasty and creepy and very British.

The HoH series is great. IMO not a bad one amongst them. You wouldn't even get Brian Cox for less
than a million these days.
