That's a shame but I'm sure it will be good watch. Was there any mention of which areas of Euro horror are going to be covered in the special?

We talked about it briefly. He'll be interviewing Dario Argento, talking about Nosferatu and I think Spanish horror will be looked at. I'd be surprised if Paul Naschy didn't get a look in. From what I could gather this will be a 90 minute special, unless the BBC have changed their minds and commisioned a full series since then.

I'll be seeing Jonathon and Mark in about six weeks at the Hammer festival in Leicester, so I imagine I'll get full details then.

It would be very nice if after this airs they can release both series on a disc and have some nice liner notes/booklet/film diary thing, maybe not as in depth as the one that came in 'The Story Film' but similar.

Good news though, now I just hope I don't miss it!

Mark Gatiss has previously discussed that it is unlikely to get a DVD release due to the copyright issues involved. I think they had to make certain deals with some of the clips that mean a commercial distribution is not allowed.

Sorry I'm raining on everybody's parade on here!

Mark Gatiss tweeted yesterday that he was filming in Slovakia about Nosferatu.

Slightly off topic, but the Arrow release of 'Faust: Love of the Damned' contains an interesting extra feature, entitled "The Pain in Spain", which examines the history of the Spanish horror film

It's very good, but the person being interviewed (Angel Sala, director of the Sitges Film Festival) has got a very thick accent, and I found myself struggling to understand what he was saying some of the time. The film clips used were very good, tho

I chatted with Mark Gatiss and Jonathon Rigby about the upcoming Euro-horror special last week, and it sounds like it's going to be great. He visited the castle where they filmed Nosferatu! He's done some great interviews too. It will be on in the UK on BBC4 on Halloween. He's just been recording the voiceovers this week.

What's Rigby's involvement with the show . . . ?
