Default Total Recall Remake?

Okay, Firstly Total Recall doesn't even need a remake....

...and secondly... Colin Farrell? I mean, Seriously!?

Maybe it's not so much a remake as a fresh adaptation of the source novel?

That being said, it does seem a bit pointless. But try telling that to the Hollywood bean counters.

To be honest, Colin Farrell isn't a bad actor, so I'm hoping that's it's a new take on it. The film would have been a bit more cerebral (as per Verhoeven's normal output) if it wasn't for Arnie and his one-liners anyway (not knocking it, I love it for what it is). I'm hoping that Farrell can put more of an edge on the twisted reality side of it, rather than just running around going "RAAAAAAAAOOOOR, MY NAME IS NOT QUAAAAAAIIIID"

It certainly won't be as classic, but it may very well still be a great film.

However, there is NOBODY on the planet that can touch Ronny Cox or Michael Ironside in those roles. Cohaagen is pure class.

After seeing Colin Farrell in Fright Night, i haven't got many concerns about him starring in this. I'll be open-minded until I see it. I like the original but it was far from perfect. The casting was great, apart from....Arnie. Like with The Running Man, his casting made the movie a bit of a joke.

The creativity was, on the whole, superb, but I hate that big woman suit glitch effect that stops the entire movie for a look at a dodgy animatronic Arnie head.

So far, the production on the remake looks sound, but I doubt that the cast will be as effective as the original.

i am all for this as it's not a direct remake. Here's the official plot on the face book page...

"As the nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai vie for supremacy, a factory worker (Farrell) begins to suspect that he's a spy, though he is unaware which side of the fight he's on."

Love the Arnie version but this could be a different kettle of fish...

Ha ha, think he use his pythons for a slightly different purpose, I remember when he grabbed Denise's arse live on big breakfast " ize like yuur leather pants" and then runs his hands up her thigh to her bot, subtle.
