I Loathe A Serbian Film

Hate is too strong a word. I just don't think it's a very good movie. It's cheap, not cheerful. At least the video nasties of old looked rough as houses so the rubbish effects didn't stand out. In High-Def all inaccuracies are there on display.
The shock value; there because there's nothing else to get excited about. What can you do if you've got a rubbish premise and no meat to the story? Put in something abhorrent to most people and it'll get noticed; and noticed it has become, but not for the right reasons.
Nothing happens in the movie for an eternity. If there wasn't the furore and the initial ban, the movie would disappear like s h and 1 t off a shovel.

Whilst it might seem so, I'm not writing to incite or argue, it's just an opinion. I have to review the damn thing so will elaborate more then.

I'm not a fan of this film at all. There were some scenes that were very uncomfortable to watch. I mean "newborn porn" WTF, what sick mind came up with that, to me that just went too far.

Short but spot on, can't argue with it. My review will echo some of what you had written, basically because there's not much else to discuss about it.

Good point about the soundtrack, I've read a few reviews which, while not praising the film, picked up on the music.

There's a surprising amount of "love" on this forum for a movie I wouldn't normally get excited about either way

I think some of it stems from the same urge that sent Frankie's Relax to number one after DJ Mike Reid banned it on air. But I think there's more than just a kneejerk reaction to a censorious kneejerk reaction going on.

I think we need to defend art from the censors no matter how base or vile it might appear.
