Default Which classic Giallo moments would you love to see in Amer?

A while back, I said that Amer was the Kill Bill of Giallo movies and this new thread seems a good place to explain that rather wide ranging notion.

Amer is of course, nothing like Kill Bill. Amer is more like an arthouse remix of the Giallo and Italian Horror genres whilst Kill Bill is a pop culture action movie. The comparison makes sense when you look at the way both movies borrow from their influences to create new work.

I think these films are the cinematic equivalent of a Stienski mix tape, in which the producer pushed sampled music forward with dizzying edits of classic rock, disco and funk tracks to create a new whole.

All this leads me to the main point of this thread. Cult Labs and Giallo fit hand in glove and many members are huge fans of the genre so this should be fun... Which moments from your favourite Giallo would you like to see paid tribute to in AMER?

Maybe it's a glint of moonlight on a straight razor or a particularly glamourous floppy hat on a sultry Italian lady, a memorable lighting scheme or an retina-burning 70s interior.

A specific scene that chilled you, an especially wild costume choice or even just a mood created by a movie. If they could make your ideal cut n paste giallo, which films would you splice together?

A lightbulb being taken out by a straight razor is a must (ref: Tenebrae; Knight Moves) for me!

It's a lot about the soundtrack, the lighting, and the camera angles for me.

Even if the gialli in question is poorly acted and scripted, the above ingredients (if done well) can still hold my interest throughout and leave me wanting more.

Also you can't have a gialli without a nice big bottle of J&B in shot somewhere!

Style over substance. I'm the same. Plot and acting aren't everything. Strange angles and queasy music do it for me as well.

The hat-the coat-the faceless mask-the black gloves are must ingredients.

Up over the house, down the chimney, into the basement, through the bedroom, quick look in the fridge, round the garden, etc
