The scene you refer to that is towards the end of Srpski (the warehouse sequence) is the tip over point for me, from then on it is more Pythonesque than shocking....and this includes the ending. Love the ST as well btw.

Lets face it Jon, even though i loathed parts of this film, il defend its right to exist, especially as my own personal feelings about this subject are clouded by friends revelations over the years.

Save your indignation for the sequel.......

In my opinion, Weekend and Salo are far better films than A Serbian Film, but I thought an analogy could be drawn.

Maybe It because I hate children, but the newborn porn scene didnt shock or offend me. It didnt make me question myself for viewing the movie and it certainly didn't disgust me.

It looks like a grown man sticking his penis into a rubber doll and feels like a juvenile attempt to shock. I suppose if I were concerned about what other people thought about me, or I was caught up in the paedophile paranoia I might worry that people think I was some kind of nonce and react angrily on a forum to make sure everyone else was 100% sure I wasn't but honestly the scene didnt move me one bit.

Mordem on the other hand shocked the hell out of me, but then that was better made.

I think we all know how everyone feels about this movie. Let's just all calm down now tho and have a cup of tea because at the fear of us all turning into one minded mark kermodes there's little else can be said about this movie. Those who still buy it can just whisper over and over 'It's only a Movie.' Of course I'd rather watch Waterworld on repeat then watch this film. If someone tells me Marilyn Manson does the soundtrack I won't be surprised.

This thread is like a time machine back to the 1980:s and the Cannibal Holocaust mess

I have seen the film in itīs uncut form, which I own on Swedish Blu-Ray, and Iīve rewatched it 5-6 times. I have shown it to lotīs of people and none have reacted like some in this thread. As someone before me said, the guy is putting a rubber cock inside a rubber doll of a baby. If it was REAL footage, THEN I would be disgusted. But as it is now, the scene actually makes people laugh at how over the top it is. And thatīs the thing, the movie is a dark comedy, as there are a lot of those silly over the top moments and satire going along the violence.

If folks get so offended by a rubber baby getting raped and are screaming about cuts and it should be banned, then they are no better than the prudes that said the same about Cannibal holocaust back in the 80:s

Itīs only a movie people

And that's your opinion, which you are fully entitled too. I just happen to disagree, and feel that the film is anything but "satirical".

However, if you classify A SERBIAN FILM as "satirical", I'd love to know what you classify something like MEET THE FEEBLES or BRAINDEAD as.

Yes, James! Seeing a depiction of a newly born infact being sodomised is side-splittingly hilarious, isn't it?! Remind me to come to a funeral of a family member of yours, and let me laugh at the oh-so-hilarious nature of the occasion. Clearly you won't be upset or offended if I did that, because obviously "people are just so sensitive"!

How the heck can you compare laughing at a real life situation like the death of a family member, to a fake scene in a movie involving a dummy?

See the difference here?

If it was a REAL baby being raped in REAL footage, then of course we would be upset. But this is a special effect in a movie = NOT REAL! And thus itīs not upsetting us. AND itīs so absurd and done in a over-the-top manner, that clearly is hard to take serious at all.

Honestly guys it's just a crap film it doesn't deserve the shock or adoration it has received.
I don't like the film but I don't think it deserves to be banned its not that important to care about.
