Blue Underground or Optimum?
Any recomendations?

According to DVDcompare, the Optimum disc has no extras, only the trailer.
Go for the BU disc, and the BD, if you have a player.

I have the ABUK disc with the 40-page booklet, will upgrade to BD someday.

The church is in a place called Hathersage about 6 miles from Castleton and the river with the stepping stones is in Dovedale. I'm going to try and visit them later this year.

I get over that part of the world sometimes. I know Dovedale well. I'll try to find the exact spots you mention and grab some photos. I might try to make a winter trip over there soon, it should look really nice, bleak and desolate right now. If you can pin point exactish spots on google earth or google maps, that would be great.

If you want a DVD version, I'd go for the Blue Underground double disc set.It may be a bit more expensive than the Optimum but it's the better option of the two. :)

I've seen the ABUK dvd around, pre-owned for as little as £1.50(charity shop) worth hunting for. Will have to give mine a spin after all this chat.

Just been re-reading bumpa Christmas 2000AD prog 2012 from December.
In the new horror based strip Absalom, the titelular protagonist refers to a number of coleagues he has worked with over the years, all from populare culture that have dabbled in the paranormal.
Amongst these are Inspector Trout from the Abominable Dr. Phibes, Inspector Calhoun from Death Line, Jack Reagon of The Sweeny, and Inspector Barlow from Z Cars and affiliated storys.
Finaly came "That Irish git who was involved in that Zombie mess up in Manchester" was none other than the un-named police officer played by Arthur Kennedy in Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue.
Love stuff like that!

I was just talking to my mate today about how great this film is and that he really needs to pick it up. So how does it rate around here not just as a zombie film but as a horror in general ?
