You just can't beat a bit of Rudy Ray Moore!

Hit Man (1972)

Great black version of Get Carter (1971)!

Both Trouble Man and Coffy come highly recommended as does Hit Man based on what i've seen of it. Where's the official DVD release of the latter title, eh?

However, The Human Tornado and Dolemite never really did it for me despite having the odd amusing moment here and there.
Nothing personal against the late Rudy Ray Moore but imo Blaxploitation's best badasses remain Fred 'The Hammer' Williamson and Jim Brown. Class acts both these guys.

Hit Man has had an official release through Warner's mod discs:

True, but both Williamson and Brown never had the lines and wit of Moore (not to mention the clothes!). There must be about twenty amazing quotable lines of dialogue in Dolemite alone. The rat-soup eating one being a particular favourite of mine.

Watching some of these trailers on the Grindhouse Trailer Classics DVD has whetted my appetite for more. I'd really like to see some of these.

You should seek out The Disco Godfather, The Human Tornado, Truck Turner and Dr Black and Mr White for a start. You can't go wrong with any of those.

I have just ordered a copy of the Spook Who Sat By The Door from Amazon. As I probably have said many times before, its not only my favourite Blacksploitation film, easily one of favourites of any genre.

Point taken but i think overall i personally prefer my Blaxploitation action straight-laced rather than with a dose of humour.
I'm well aware Rudy Ray Moore has a sizeable following and i've no problem with that. But i must admit i do find the late entertainer's brand of Blaxploitation to be something of an acquired taste.
