Has anyone else seen this? What an odd film - the 'snuff' footage is very well done and incredibly convincing, surprising considering the rest of the film and the rather non really wild show footage of a horse...

Yes it's a film of two halves.The first is quite light-hearted in tone & it certainly becomes grimmer when the nasty 'Snuff' footage is seen.

I think it would've disturbed me more if I'd not seen a similar scene in an uncut bootleg of Caligula-The Untold Story years before.

Everytime there is a discussion on censorship this film comes up.

Talking about Emanuelle I'm still waiting to hear what the BBFC's verdict will be on Confessions of Emanuelle, cut by over 15 minutes last time.

i like Emanuelle and the last cannibals more(haven't seen the cut uk version so dont no what that version is like), Emanuelle in America is a bit bit boring to start with but gets better after she sees the snuff for the 1st time.

Afraid I haven't Angel. It's been on my list for a long time though, as of yet I haven't got round to picking it up. I'm always intrigued to see anything with 'snuff' footage and I heard it's pretty extreme in this, is it as bad as people say?

Yes I think it probably is although personally I would have found the scenes more disturbing had they been shot with sound. The 3 short segments consist of images of women being tortured and of course some of it is sexual. The film has been deliberately damaged to make the scenes seem more authentic. The screenings of the 3 snuff sequences also take place during sexual activity between Emanuelle and co, though it is obvious that Laura Gemser is not really watching the scenes. Same thing earlier on when she and a group of people appear to be watching the bestiality sequence in the barn although it is so obvious that the scenes were shot at different times and then edited together.

Personally I doubt the BBFC would be quite as strict with the snuff scenes as they were in the past where the scenes were completely removed. I'd love to see what would happen though.

I've seen LAST CANNIBALS. It stands no chance of passing uncut today although some of the cuts could probably be waived.

Yes the grisly sexual mutilation of a tied up woman in Last Cannibals would prevent that films future uncut release here.I also agree the cuts could be reduced.

I didn't find Emanuelle in America that shocking, maybe i have seen to many of these things.
