Default Mondo Cane Uncut?

Does anyone Know if the forthcoming uk release of Mondo Cane is uncut or not. I doubt it but Play.com says it has been given an E which means it does not have to be submitted to the BBFC.

I can't see it being fully uncut. Even the old cinema release was cut by nearly 14 mins.

It would receive far less cuts today but it would be unusual if it passed intact. Ditto for Africa Addio.

Both extremely unpleasant films though I found Africa Addio to be the nastier by far.

As with Cannibal Holocaust (same composer, namely Riz Ortolani) the scores to both are absolutely superb. The Mondo Cane theme (aka More) is magnificent.

Wow, it will be interesting to see what happens here.

I haven't seen the film either by the way.

Presumably the BBFC cut a lot of the scenes involving animals last time but I'm eager to see what their decision will be today, after all it is a documentary albeit an exploitative one.

I'm sure it will go out with an 18 rating and not an E.

The animal scenes in Africa Addio are really unpleasant to watch. Addio Zio Tom is a nasty film as well

I last saw Mondo Cane on a very bad quality VHS. It's certainly a vile film in parts and I would expect cuts (or maybe pre-edits) too. It will definitely be interesting to see what the BBFC make of it today.

I can't see it fitting into an E either. The Animals Film (also a documentary) ended up as an uncut 15.

I have Goodbye Uncle Tom but haven't got round to watching it yet. Not overly sure if I want to.

Good Bye Uncle Tom is not a nice film to watch, at least there is no animal cruelty.

I suspect if this fares well with the BBFC then distributors may be tempted to submit other similar documentaries, like the ones mentioned above perhaps. Whatever happens it's bound to fare far better with the BBFC now than it did last time.

Amazon list the run time of the DVD as 85m although this may be wrong. If it was right than it's well short of the full version.

Just wondering -does this film have a good release, outside of the massive boxsets? Because so far I've bought two American releases, and the first was heavily cut, and the second had a soundtrack that was out-of-sync for the entire first half.
