Funny you should say that I think it was coined at the time the HOSTEL sequel came out.

I already have the Retro Film and Mya discs so am happy to wait until December when I can pick up the Shameless Blu-ray.
Yes! Thats exactly what i thought also, guess you have to make every horror movie cover look like Hostel or Saw to get to the mainstream audience(haha they will be pissed of by this one), Shameless will probably get a way better cover art for it, and if so, i will buy the Shameless release instead.

I've a lot of AWE discs, but they don't do themselves any favours artwork wise.

Especially with the likes of the Italian cannibal and zombie movies, none of which I own.
Come to think of it,the Gialli selection ain't much better.
GREAT discs,bad artwork.

Stick to covers like your SAVAGE STREETS,HANDS OF STEEL,BLASTFIGHTER and COFFY covers AWE!

Or as in Shameless's case, put out reversible covers.

Something with an alternate cover will always win my purchase.

No one would care if they did these photoshop abominations AND had the original artwork on the otherside. I'd imagine a cover like that does more harm than good because, as someone else rightly pointed out, the people who those covers will appeal to will no doubt be massivle disappointed by the lack of blood and guts in FFOGV.

Absolutely.
And anyway, what could be better than this? (Preferrably with the Italian text in place!)

A work of art!

I must say I'm a little over seeing that image - It was used by both Mya and Retrofilm - don't get me wrong, I do like it but I'm hoping that other original artwork will be utilised too.

There's a nicer one (Belgian or French VHS, I think) which features what looks to be a scene through a fish-eyed lense. There's also the US one-sheet which I really like too.

Yeah, those are good designs as well, but for me that splitting mask poster will always be associated with Four Flies.

The Shameless disc has the chance here to be definitive......
