Default Hatchets, Switchblades, Chainsaws and Black Gloves

Have we discussed favourite weapons on Cult Labs before?

Is it too ghoulish?

Hatchet 2 is one of those particularly honest horror films that wears its slashed up heart on its blood soaked sleeve by being named after it's weapon of choice. The Toolbox Murders and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre help audiences in a similar fashion by loudly trailing the violence captured in their running times with a lurid title.

Which leads me to ask in inevitable question... Which rusty garden implement, shiny steel blade or petrol driven landscape gardening tool do you prefer a masked or mutated horror fiend to wield?

A hatchet yesterday

Personally, I like Cropsy's shears in The Burning. They offer a versitile range of dismemberment options, allowing for the deranged killer to stab and disembowel whilst giving room for more creative and delicate carnage, such as the snipping off of fingertips.

Over to you...

I've never ever given a thought.
I like inventive kills, some of which have been in the later Friday the 13th movies and I've never seen thanks to the BBFC.
But, putting my mind to it, I liked the hooks that some of Blakes men used in John Carpenter's version of The Fog. I like the squelch, squelch sound too, as one of the ghosts takes a guys eyes out.

Candyman's vicious hook for a hand always worked for me.

Being a slasher film fan, i don't think you can really beat being stabbed with a sharp implement, rather than power tools or ballistic weaponry

Yes, I'm sure we can all agree that as a general rule of thumb, sharp things are better than blunt things.

A bit like pointy guitars making metal sound better.

That's a vote for blunt objects right there, who'll counter with a sharp implement?

A car's hood and an overweight hillbilly make an excellent guillotine.

Just be careful not to say his name above a whisper!

Greetings!
