Default John carpenters the thing on the big screen.

Great news!!

Carpenters remake of the 50's sci-fi classic is hitting cineworld screens on tuesday the 15th of sept for one day only.

Im assuming this is showing in all the cineworld chains,as its advertised in the falkirk cinema.

Cant bleedin wait,as i was 11 on its first cinema showing back in 1982,so had no chance of seeing it.

Really looking forward to this!!!!

I was 16 then and did see it on the flicks. Quite an experience it was too.

I saw it when it first came out. The big screen does make a difference. I wonder how clean the print will be?

According to the flyer, its a digital presentation,so heres hoping.
Cineworld also had de palmas scarface on a fortnight back, and withnail and i was playing yesterday for one day only.
Hopefully this is a trend that will catch on,showing old classics in multiplexs.

Any of you good folks go and see this at the flicks? I can say it was a great 2 hours seeing this back on the big screen, with a nice clean print and a lot of like minded fans in the audience, and the whole cinema cracked up at the spider head beastie scene and the immortal line.."you gotta be ****in kiddin me.." Apparently, due to public demand, its being shown again in the near future, according to the cineworld website. Cool!!!

You ever listen to the Carpenter/Russell commentary on the dvd? Kurt Russell laughs like a mad man when he hears that line as well
