So do i and that's just for starters! Yours truly also owns several other boxes packed with still sealed backup DVDs. Many or most of which have been OOP for years now.

Good man and i'm of the same opinion.

I would never part with ANY of my DVDs, even if I had them on blu-ray!

Actually, I don't even buy blu-rays yet... I'm just.. stuck on DVDs.

I sell them to my mate for £2-4 each depending on what it is, a few sold to him funds a new BD purchase. I used to keep them, but now i'm trying to stop being a horder as such, it's better for me to sell them on.

Cool

My mate has only recently joined the dvd disc realm(2009) so I give him the ones I replace on Blu in exchange for shop bought cups of tea or hot chocolate, or I give em to Oxfam/Heart Foundation/Cancer Research, but some stuff(vhs) I would never part with. Even tho I go skint like everybody else, haven't sold stuff for awhile now.

I don't buy every new release I add to my collection on Blu-ray, even though it may be available on both DVD & BD.I only upgrade to BD for films I truly love, that's why I don't have too many BDs in my collection.I wouldn't sell my DVDs for silly prices or give them away.I gave away all my fuzzy, snowy, worn out VHS tapes though.

i only buy the films i love on Blu Ray and the ones i don't already have on DVD. I keep the dvds of the ones i buy on blu as a back up if anything happens to my blu ray player, i've boxed up around 500 as i ran out of room but i wouldn't throw them away because i might watch them at some point. It's the perils of being a dvd collector.

Oh, i often buy BRs, i just don't have an actual player yet and it's become something of a running joke among one or two colleagues at work!

Same here regarding HD purchases although i'll definitely go for a bargain if i see one and i generally only fork out full price for a genre title. Otherwise, i usually tend to pay up to a tenner or less for a major studio release.

Yours truly only gives away old DVDs inferior to upgraded editions and the vast majority of VHS titles i owned were all passed on to others years ago.

Something of a man after my own heart there, Pedro and i know more or less exactly what you mean about the perils of being a DVD collector. Been there, do that and have the boxfuls of titles like yourself to prove it!

Tbh if i truly get to watch all my still-sealed stock before the 'ol Grim Reaper comes callin' then it'll be a miracle. Really!
