Default Films that slipped under the radar

Due to so many dvds being released of late, thought i'd start a thread for some that have creeped out on to the market with little or no fanfare at all.
Good or bad...well,heres a few for starters..

BABYSITTER WANTED-RELEASED BY LIONSGATE-R2.

Saw this in hmv the other week, looked quite interesting, ended up buying it ex rental from blockbuster last weekend.
The first 45 minutes of this are textbook slasher cliches, with a young girl babysiting at a house out in the middle of nowhere, who is receiving ominous phone calls and thinks someone is prowling around outside the house.
Then we have one of the biggest, wtf type twists ever, which had me sitting on the couch in disbelief..thats all im gonna say.
Is it any good? See for yourself,as im sure this will divide genre fans bigtime.although i get a slight feeling more will hate it than like it to be honest.

SPLINTER-RELEASED BY ICON-R2

Debut feature film from director toby wilkins, concerning an organism which, once attached to its human host, feeds off of them rather messily.Ok,this was really enjoyable stuff, and harks back to the glory days of horror flicks,as its fast paced, quite gory and most of all, really entertaing.

THE LOST SON-RELEASED BY CINEMA CLUB-R2.

Picked this up in gamestation a while back, and what starts out as a cop looking for a missing child, end up going down some very dark avenues indeed.
A very unsetteling film and well worth your attention.

Ok,i've strated the ball rolling, any other undiscovered gems out there we should know about?

^ I wouldn't say Splinter slipped under the radar necessarily. It's still relatively new, and has got a lot of positive online buzz. Time will tell if it gets recognised or not, and it's not been on R2 that long.

But yes, terrific film - and nice to see old fashioned creature design, plus intelligent writing, with characters you actually root for!

Dead Birds is a bit of an underrated gem, imo

"Death Game" a crazed American flick from the 1970s.It's the tale of two bisexual girls who invade a married man's home whilst his wife is away. This film is truly demented and has the same frenzied feel as the dinner scene in the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"

Good choice. I saw this on the cinema back in 1983 (doubled with Vice Squad). An excellent film with looney performances from Sondra Locke and Colleen Camp.

"Death Game" is the best thing I've seen all year.I can't understand why it's not a huge cult film.It is just so wrong and bent out of shape(in a good way).

Sondra Locke was having an affair with Clint Eastwood at the time too. Weird eh?

And ended up being dead wood in many of his movies.

I just noticed the Roger Moore movie the Man Who Haunted Himself was out on dvd over here from Cinema Club with some decent extras. Cinema Club should advertise these things.
