Default R.I.P. Jean Rollin

I'm surprised few people have picked up on this, but cult director Jean Rollin passed away yesterday.

The Living Dead Girl and Grapes of Death remain firm favourites to this day.

Farewell, Jean.

RIP Jean Rollin

Very sad news.

I'd heard he'd been in hospital with pneumonia, but I didn't realise he'd passed away.

Sad new indeed, though I remember reading about him being quite ill a while ago.

Indeed, two personal Euro faves of mine- "Grapes" in particular is a regularly revisited gem for me.

Blimey, I didn't know. Unfortunately I've never seen a Jean Rollin film. I've always wanted to see Grapes of Death though since reading about it in my Zombie book.

Sad news! Grapes is indeed a good movie; very atmospheric. Worth checking out if only for some realistic gore effects (I recall one particular effect looking very good. It might be age and memory on my part though )

Graps of Death is excellent, Ant. As Wayfarer has said, it's full of atmosphere. Or give Zombie Lake a blast for hillarity!

RIP Jean.

I loved La Morte vivante and also had a fondness for Two Orphan Vampires.

If this has now been definitely confirmed, then this is very sad news. He was one of my favourite cult directors and I've loved his movies ever since I watched Redemption's original VHS release of Requiem For A Vampire.

A truly unique talent.

RIP Jean
