Probably just me being slow though. The Code Red transfer is great and looked lovely upscaled and the print damage actually gave it the authenticity of a grindhousey/drive-in movie (I did find myself getting distracted by the print damage at times, possibly hence my confusion over the film ) | I reckon 'The Redeemer' has many flaws (slowness and dullness being but two), and on balance probably doesn't really cut it, but... it might be a purely personal thing, but some scenes just really weird me out. Something about the religious imagery... the boy and the lake, the weird shit with the two thumbs... like an edition of 'Watchtower' brought to screen by a cheap grindhouse David Lynch, maybe - seems to evoke a portentous atmosphere of senseless dread, for me anyway.
