Ebay Seller to Avoid

I managed to buy THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE Ultimate Edt. Steelbook *NEW* 2 weeks ago for a bargain price of £ 8.25 Inc P&P from ebay seller: authentic_dvds

After he sent me an email saying it was sent, i waited 5 days and NO DVD. I sent him an email to let him know it had'nt arrived, to which he replied it was probably delayed. I waited a further 5 days and sent him another email. he replied to that with.

"I'm sorry you still haven't received. This title is currently on reorder with no confirmed delivery date. We can refund if you prefer."

HI Wayne, Thanks for the reply. I notice on your Ebay page you still have 8 available for sale, could you not send me one of those instead and inform please.

He just sent me an email back saying i was mistaken that was an old page i was looking at and he's out of stock.

*Bullshit* I have been an ebay member long enough to know when items have been changed, taken off sale. Especially when he had 10 in stock. His ebay listings had 8 available 2 sold. After my email he has just changed the listings. I suggest this is all because i got it at half the price he was listing on buy it now. (£15.00)

So just to let you know please avoid authentic_dvds at all cost, unless your willing to take the risk.

I have just sent him an email and said.

Hi Wayne, Just refund my money then. I know when i looked at your page yesterday it had 2 sold 8 available but now it only has 2 sold. I have been a member of ebay for years and know how it works.

what a tosser, hate people who do stuff like that on ebay, i have had a few like that too wish i could remember who they are to post them, i had one guy who sold me fake films then tried to convince me they were original copies even though when i put the disc on it came up with the dvd encoding progrqm he used to make the disc

yeah its the same one, i got it last year when i was trying to collect all things TCM , never been played and pretty sure it was new when i got it, trade or sale mate its up to you

I had a bad experience with eBay. I ordered the ultra rare Lion King Trilogy from one seller a fair few years ago. It arrived but the whole thing was fake. It had just photoshopped and scanned images over a cardboard box. He refused to take it back when I told him it was fake. He didn't believe me then had the audacity to say that he bought it from someone else like that so he assumed it was real. I mean come on, get a life. Anyway long story short I had to go through a 3 month battle with PayPal and this seller and stuff to sort it out. Ended up getting him banned so turned out okay in the end.

A similar thing happened to me a while ago when I bought a brand new copy of a film on Blu-ray for £4.99 just a week after release. The seller (who was the actual distributor of the film!) claimed to have sent it and when it didn't arrive, I had to contact them. Same response. Refund or wait for a replacement. I insisted that I'd wait no matter how long it took! That would be my advice to anyone in a similar situation. If you're polite and insist on waiting, there's not much they can do but send you one eventually. If only to shut you up! I think I waited three weeks all told but would have waited as long as it took.

Hi Kyle, i ain't got much worth swapping except some run of the mill crap. So it may be better doing a cash deal. I can list if you really want swaps but like i said its basic popular titles.

Cheers for the heads up 'Ken'. Don't use E-bay myself, old dog new tricks etc, but my mate uses it all the time so I'll pass that on. Saw some consumer show ages ago where some guy paid £25 for "fully working, as new Sony mini-disc" on E-bay. He got a small package with 1 blank mini-disc, worth about 75p. Be good to use this thread to warn us of other Arthur Daly types out there.

There's nothing more irritating to me than someone i don't even know assuming i'm an idiot (or whoever else). I would have reported him to the eBay team. Once someone sold me a bundle of 4 DVDs in Like New Condition, a week later he sent them, and the day before he e-mailed me telling me that when he put them in his DVD drive to check (check what if they are like new?) the laser went mad (?) and took off bits of the surface opposite to where the laser reads (?). IDIOT!
